{"id":151,"date":"2009-01-10T02:42:02","date_gmt":"2009-01-09T22:42:02","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.hakbox.com\/?p=151"},"modified":"2009-01-13T01:43:42","modified_gmt":"2009-01-12T21:43:42","slug":"microsoft-explorer-mini-smooth-sailing","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.hakbox.com\/?p=151","title":{"rendered":"Microsoft Explorer Mini: Smooth Scrolling"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I recently picked up a new wireless mouse: the Microsoft Explorer Mini with BlueTrack Technology.\u00a0 So far, I am very satisfied with the quality and usability of the mouse (both on Mac and PC).\u00a0 BlueTrack is definitely not a gimmick, and it turns virtually any surface into a mouse pad (not including clear glass, as MS states).\u00a0 I never thought the couch would make a decent mouse pad!<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_154\" style=\"width: 310px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.hakbox.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/01\/pic-0123.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-154\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-154\" title=\"pic-0123\" src=\"http:\/\/www.hakbox.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/01\/pic-0123.jpg\" alt=\"Side by Side with Standard MS Mouse\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-154\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Side by Side with Standard MS Mouse (Rear View)<\/p><\/div>\n<ul>\n<li>The mouse glides effortlessly.<\/li>\n<li>It feels very comfortable<\/li>\n<li>The USB dongle is very small (not a &#8220;nano&#8221; like the Logitech mice, but still small)<\/li>\n<li>5 programmable buttons (on both Mac and PC!) via Intellipoint 6.3 (at time of this writing)<\/li>\n<li>I even like how they removed the &#8216;clicks&#8217; from the mouse wheel!\u00a0 It spins with some minor resistance.\u00a0 Unlike Logitech scroll wheels, which offer little to no resistance.<\/li>\n<li>Takes 1 AA battery<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div id=\"attachment_153\" style=\"width: 310px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.hakbox.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/01\/pic-0122.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-153\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-153\" title=\"pic-0122\" src=\"http:\/\/www.hakbox.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/01\/pic-0122.jpg\" alt=\"Side by Side with Standard MS Mouse (Side View)\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-153\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Side by Side with Standard MS Mouse (Side View)<\/p><\/div>\n<p>I know most gamers would scream at the thought of using a wireless mouse for gaming.\u00a0 But I&#8217;m not a hard-core gamer (although I am eyeing the upcoming <a href=\"http:\/\/www.microsoft.com\/presspass\/press\/2008\/sep08\/09-10SideWinderX8PR.mspx\">Microsoft Official Press Release<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.engadget.com\/2008\/09\/10\/microsoft-sidewinder-x8-gaming-mouse-gets-official-examined\">Microsoft Sidewinder x8 Gaming Mouse [Engadet]<\/a>).\u00a0 I have to say that so far, in the limited games I have played (WoW and Spore), the mouse works flawlessly.\u00a0 No latency, no stuttering, no issues what-so-ever.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_155\" style=\"width: 310px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.hakbox.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/01\/pic-0124.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-155\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-155\" title=\"pic-0124\" src=\"http:\/\/www.hakbox.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/01\/pic-0124.jpg\" alt=\"Side by Side with Standard MS Mouse (Front View)\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-155\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Side by Side with Standard MS Mouse (Front View)<\/p><\/div>\n<p>I would definitely recommend this mouse to anyone in the market for a new portable mouse.\u00a0 If you are looking for a desktop version, try the Explorer with BlueTrack Technology.\u00a0 Slightly larger, and comes with a charging station.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I recently picked up a new wireless mouse: the Microsoft Explorer Mini with BlueTrack Technology.
