I recently did some benchmarking on the most popular browsers to see which one rendered HTML and Javascript the quickest. It turns out, Apple isn’t full of it when they say Safari is the fastest browser!
The test involved loading a custom web page hosted on a local server running IIS. The page consisted of a simple Javascript Table sorting app called TinyTable. As you can see from the results, IE6 was the slowest to render the page, while Safari the fastest. And to everyone out there still using IE6, if you upgrade to IE7, you will at least get a 50% performance boost!
